Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family with volunteering in the community. One of the first things he did is to help the Selmon family. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. He and his wife raised nine children in a Eufala farm. The Selmons were also among the three brothers who played for Oklahoma in football. All three were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the United States. In his three years as a starter Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and won two national championships. The National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in the year 1975. Selmon received a diploma as a teacher. Fourth service In the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa and spent the next nine years playing with the Buccaneers. 3 times, he was named All-Pro. Lee Roy began his professional career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being among the top 10 young men from the United States. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He coached his university team in 1975. In 1993, he was a part of his current position at University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. The College Football Hall of Fame named him as a member in the year 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
