Fawn Mckay

Fawn MCK Brodie was born 15th September 1915 in Ogden Utah. Fawn MCKAY, raised in the Mormon Church's First Family employed her creative talents and expertise in research to write an intriguing psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 under the title"No Man is a Master of My History, she used both. That title was taken from a funeral sermon given by the founding father of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844, when he shocked his listeners by declaring: You don't know me and you've never known my heart. Nobody knows my past. There is no way for me to reveal it. Fawn, 29 years old has written. Fawn is taking over the role of writer from that point on. A lot of them have denigrated him and some have deified him; Some have attempted to make a diagnosing him. The problem isn't just that the documents do not exist, but it is rather that they're wildly contradictory. It's a daunting task to put together these documents and separate first-hand stories from the third-hand versions and then combining Mormon narratives with non-Mormon ones to form a cohesive mosaic. It is both interesting and an eye-opener. This is the kind of task to which Fawn Brodie devoted herself professionally. The fruits of her research as well as her writing earned her the world's attention: Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon and An Intimate Historical History (1974).
