Lucy Liu is a voice actress singer and director. She's also an actress. An attractive and intelligent actor, she is an example to numerous Asian actors who wish to become famous in Hollywood. After several appearances on popular television series her name was a household name after being cast in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. She translated her unexpected fame into major screen roles in films such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal O'Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time her role as a leading lady in flops at the box office such as Rise: Blood Hunter were also prominent. Then, she was a voice actress for animated films including Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's tiny screen role on Cashmere Mafia did not produce the desired results. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of police dramas that included Liu in multiple parts, helped to establish her as an actress. Liu chooses her roles with care so that she doesn't get cast in an industry that is competitive. While she embraces her roots but it doesn't mean she has to be in her work as an artist.
